ÖZGEÇMİŞ | BIOGRAPHY
Ş. Cem Onat, 1982 yılında Ankara’da doğdu. Başkent Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulu Turizm Rehberliği Programı’ndaki ön lisans eğitiminin ardından, aynı üniversitenin Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Grafik Tasarım Bölümü’nde lisans eğitimini tamamladı. Yüksek lisans ve doktora derecelerini Yeditepe Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Plastik Sanatlar Anabilim Dalı’ndan aldı. Değişim programı kapsamında ABD’de Temple University’de eğitim gördü.
Akademik ve sanatsal çalışmalarının yanı sıra çeşitli kurumlarda proje yöneticiliği yaptı; sergi düzenleme ve organizasyon süreçlerinde yer aldı. Okul öncesi çocuklara yönelik sanat çalıştaylarında eş yürütücü olarak görev aldı. Sanatsal üretimleriyle birçok kişisel ve karma sergide yer alan Onat, 2025 yılında Doçent unvanını aldı.
Hâlen Yeditepe Üniversitesi Sanat ve Kültür Yönetimi Bölümü’nde öğretim üyesi ve Bölüm Başkan Yardımcısı olarak görev yapmaktadır.
Ş. Cem Onat was born in Ankara in 1982. After completing his associate degree in the Tourism Guidance Program at Başkent University Vocational School of Social Sciences, he received his bachelor’s degree in the Department of Graphic Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the same university. He completed his master’s and doctoral studies at Yeditepe University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Plastic Arts. He also studied at Temple University in the United States as an exchange student.
In addition to his academic and artistic work, he worked as a project manager in various institutions and took part in exhibition organization and coordination processes. He served as a co-facilitator in art workshops, particularly those aimed at preschool children. Having participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, Onat received the title of Associate Professor in 2025.
He is currently working as a faculty member and Vice Head of the Department at Yeditepe University, Department of Arts and Cultural Management.
